QuickBooks Desktop 2020 offers increased automation and more

Users can also check it until it’s sent, and they can choose how many days after the due date the alert is sent and which days are sent to which customers. You can set reminders in advance, and QuickBooks will notify you when it’s time to submit them. Customers’ purchase orders and PO numbers will now be automatically added to invoice emails for small businesses. The concept is that providing end consumers with accurate details promptly would lead to faster payment. Previously, users had to check for and manually enter customer PO numbers in the subject line of each invoice email.

Instead of sending a separate invoice email for each invoice, users may now combine several emails. Previously, users would manually merge invoices outside QuickBooks to get around the inability to connect emails inside the programme. In the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, all of these features are available.

Performance improvements: Reports have been upgraded to solve a long-standing problem with data visibility. Users may now collapse columns horizontally in reports in QBD to show only the data they want or need customers or other stakeholders to see. Previously, users had to export the words and change them outside of QuickBooks. The Smart Help feature, which can be found under the Help menu or by pressing F1, is also new. F1 provides access to a live support agent through messaging or a call-back option and enhanced contextual content and search options. The ability to quickly scan for any open company files is also new in search capabilities.

Users in the United States can now upgrade their apps directly from inside QBD. Every year, many customers contact Intuit to update their software, according to the company. The upgrade process used to have anywhere from six to 19 distinct stages. Customers can now prevent these problems by upgrading inside the platform.  Although most users prefer to speak with a live person to guide them through an update, the latest version allows them to do so with only a few clicks, greatly simplifying the process. These options are only available in the United States.

New in QB Payroll: QuickBooks Payroll Updates Payroll is only available to consumers in the United States. It includes tracking the status of payroll sent to Intuit, allowing business users to see if it was mailed on time and is being processed correctly. Employees can now more readily monitor the status of their direct deposit. Employee self-setup is also modern — similar to software upgrades, self-setup is a simplified mechanism that allows workers to get themselves set up much quicker and more efficiently than before. If an employer does the setup, the procedure is cut in half, from 60 to five screens. This process can be reduced to two screens if an employee performs the self-setup part.
